Our CBN-tipped indexable inserts provide enormous cost-cuttings in many applications. Higher surface-speeds, longer tool-life, reduced machine-loads are the big advantages of CBN (cubic boron nitride).
An applications-example at a customer: machining cold work steel with a hardness of 58+2 HRC. The considerably higher tool costs redeem itself by reduced running time of the machine. Better machine-availability and thus increased machine capacity is not considered yet. And: the round insert RDHX 0702 M0T has been relocated not even once. Downtime is avoided and the remaining cutting edge can be used for further tasks.

These days, CBN is used as a cutting material:
- where all other available cutting materials don't allow an economic production
- in production-fields, where extreme increases of process-acceleration is necassary.
